This knowledge base not only describes you about accessing your webmail through cPanel but also learn you how to access webmail through your address bar and port address.

For the most part, its all self-explanatory.

Lets dive in and see how far we can get together.

How to Access cPanel Webmail

Commonly, there are three different ways to access the cPanel webmail account ?

  1. by using the servers IP address

  2. your domain name

  3. through the control panels Email Accounts section.

In this section, we will cover each of these methods. But before that, learn about What is Webmail and cPanel.

What is Webmail?

Simply stated, webmail is a web-based email account, or we can say, they are free to email accounts that are accessed and operated from a website. The most popular examples of webmail are Gmail and Yahoo Mail.

However, in cPanel inside a web host account, you can also have webmail. This particular webmail gives your email a more professional as it is attached to the domain name you are running.

Basically, webmail allows access to all emails to their users as long as they have internet connectivity and a web browser. To get all functionality the user has to be inside the webmail portal.

Inside cPanel areas, usually, webmail is made things possible by webmail software like SquirrelMail, RoundCube, or Horde, which is installed and running on the server.

What is a cPanel?

cPanel is an online Linux-based GUI. Basically, it is used to control and simplify all aspects of website and server management.

cPanel allows you to do various things and provides you with several functionalities. Some of the main features include:

  • Publish Websites

  • Manage Domains

  • Organize Web Files

  • Create Email Accounts

  • Add Sub Domains and Add-on Domains

  • Provides You With Softaculous

Basically, it gives you all the tools required to fully manage websites and everything connected to them. If you choose a hosting plan from go4hosting then you will get cPanel as part of the hosting package.

cPanel basically has two interfaces.

  1. A UI called cPanel.

  2. A web host manager is known as the server management interface

Both these interfaces allow users to easily manage their websites while allowing hosting providers the tools to manage the server.

Many people think that cPanel is free. But thats not true. However, many hosting providers include it in their plans. In case your concern is privacy, then cPanel is indeed private.

Ensure that your username and password are safe and secure.

Accessing Webmail Through the Servers IP Address

In this method, you need to use a servers IP address which was provided by your hosting provider.

Enter the URL https://server_ip:2096 (HTTPS port) or http://server_ip:2095 (non-HTTPS port). Alternatively, use http://server_ip/webmail. For the IP address of your hosting server, Server_ip is the placeholder.

Both of these URLs take you to the login page of webmail. Here, you need to enter your email address and password for your email account. The webmail login page should look like this:

Now navigate to the General Infirmation Box, After that, go to the servers IP address on the cPanel home screen.

Accessing Webmail Through Your Domain Name

This is very impractical to remember the IP address to access the webmail account. Instead of that, you can use your domain name like: example.com/webmail/.

If you will replace the webmail with the port number then it also works. For example, Enter  example.com:2095 or 2096 for a non-HTTPS port. Hence, the webmail interface should look like this:

On the cPanel dashboard, you can check your domain name in the General Information box It will be labeled as Primary Domain.

Accessing Webmail via cPanels Email Accounts Section

Under the email section, navigate the email accounts your cPanel dashboard is the easiest way to access the webmail interface.

Through this method, you can also connect your webmail account with your mobile device.

Select the email account you want to access, and click on the Check Email button. Here, you can also pick a default email address with your domain to forward emails sent to invalid addresses.

After that, a window will pop up, prompting you to choose a webmail client. Here, youll choose from two webmail applications ? Roundcube and Horde.

Click on the check box that mentions Open my inbox Once the log-in set up of the webmail completes, you chose it as the default one and click Open.

Final Thoughts

Hence, webmail accessing from cPanel is not that difficult, the only thing you need is to understand where to log in and where to start. Many people use it.
