A data network is a telecommunication process that allows computers to exchange the data. With the help of this orderly transmission, reception of data, letters, spreadsheets and other types of documents can be done with ease.
There are two basic types of data networks in that are prominently used in operations in the industry, which are as follows:
- Private network
- Public network
A private network refers to a local network, which is designed to allow smooth data transfer between the various departments within a given entity, such as a company. Every location of the organization may be included as nodes on the network. With these nodes, communicate becomes more smooth through a common server. This local server acts as the repository for any type and all types of data files that are used throughout the business. Connections can also be attained through the creation of a virtual private network, or VPN, that exists on a master server.
On the contrary, a public network is widely accessible to both residential as well as corporate clients of a given carrier network. The installation of such type of network may involve multiple servers and connection to the network through several different processes. Often, the network requires a little subscription processing fee, similar to a monthly usage fee. Ability of retrieving stored documents, backups of important data files and data archiving are few of the valuable advantages for future applications.
