Data Center is a well-equipped facility that houses computer systems and associated components. Here companies keep their servers and network resources to operate their IT operations in a streamlined manner. This facility also has some standard tiers starting from tier 1- IV defining the level and type of the infrastructure.
Following are the details of data center tiers:
Tier 1: Composed of a single path for power and cooling distribution, without redundant components, providing 99.671% availability
Tier II: Has single path for power and cooling distribution with redundant components. It is providing 99.741% availability.
Tier III: It is composed of multiple active paths of power and cooling distribution. But, only one path stays active with redundant components and is concurrently maintainable. It offers 99.982% availability
Tier IV: Composed of multiple active power and cooling distribution path also has redundant components. In addition to this, it is fault tolerant and provides 99.995% availability.
