Streaming Media

Streaming media relates to the video or audio content that is delivered in a compact manner over the Internet and is played straightaway, rather than being saved onto the hard drive. The word Streaming media refers to a multimedia that is continuously received by and presented to an end-user while being transported by a service provider.

With the aid of streaming media, a user does not have to wait for long in order to download a file for playing. The media is directed in a constant stream of data that it can play as soon as it arrives. The users can easily pause, rewind or fast-forward the data, just as they could easily do with a downloaded file, except if the content is being run live.
