- Manual Installing
Servers that do not have Softaculous installed such as VPS and dedicated server, you can install WordPress manually by downloading the files and then uploading them to your server. In the manual installation process, the first thing you have to do is to download the .zip file from the WordPress. Once you get the WordPress files, you can upload them to your cPanel and then complete all the configurations for the WordPress to work.
Step#1 Go to the official WordPress site and Download the latest version of the WordPress from here: http://wordpress.org/download/
Step#2 Now, login to your cPanel
Step#3 Go to the File Manager, select the directory in which you want to install your WordPress and click Go.
Step#4 Extract the zip file in the directory.
Step#5 After this, you will need to make a copy of the wp-config-sample.php file.
Change wp-config-sample.php to wp-config.php like the snapshot shown below:
Step#6 Now, create Database and Database user. Add the user to the database with complete access permissions.
Step#7 With the File Manager code editor, edit the wp-config.php. Change the database specifications such as database name, user name and password in the wp-config.php file. Save the changes.
Step#8 Visit the domain name that you have uploaded for the WordPress files. You’ll see the installation screen like the snapshot to the right.
Enter the Site title, username, password and your email address for your WordPress Dashboard admin login.
Step9# Click Install WordPress. You will see the following popup.
