Switching your
email hosting account from one server host to another can be done in a few steps.
You must know the IP address of the server being currently used such as a POP3 or IMAP server. You will also need the IP address of the server that you currently use to send mail. This will be an SMTP server in most cases.
Next, find the IP address of the server you want to receive mail. Then, add a new account to your email client by filling the right IP addresses in the space for POP3 and SMTP server. The new account must be configured to ensure messages are put in the same mailbox as the previous account. This will now be your default account.
You will have to log in to your account where the domain is registered and click the space for changing domain point. It will take some time for the new DNS information to broadcast. Here, you can receive email messages from both email providers.
Replace the IP addresses of the IMAP/POP3 and SMTP servers with the more easy to remember names delivered by the new e-mail provider. The final step is to cancel your old email account in the email client to complete the process.
