One of the most compelling attributes of a
Content Delivery Network is improvement of local availability of your content. CDN service providers have their own data centers across multiple locations. These are designed to serve as Points of Presence (POP) for the cached content to be delivered to end user.
After the request by end user is received, CDN will identify the nearest POP and ensure the content delivery from the same POP. In the absence of CDN the user would require to have number of data centers across geographical locations and place the content for faster delivery. CDN obviates the need to have multiple data centers by acting as a local distributor.
