Will I Face Downtime While Upgrading My VPS Server

VPS servers are flexible and allow you to upgrade or downgrade to any of the affordable plans offered by Go4hosting. All you should do is log in to your account and go to the “My services”. You will find details of your present plan and the other plans that are available. You must click on the plan that you wish to upgrade to. A new pro-rated invoice will be created that will give details of the difference of amount between your new plan and your existing plan.

You should not be experiencing any major downtime when you make an upgrade. If you are looking for an upgrade of the resources such as RAM, disk space or CPU the downtime will be more in case you are utilizing the Windows VPS servers.

In Linux VPS, you will have a downtime of about 1 or 2 minutes. However, if your website is hosted on Windows servers, it will have a downtime of 3 to 5 minutes. If you are adding an IP address, a reboot will be required which again may put your website down for the same time as mentioned above. If you are looking for an operating system change, Linux may have a downtime of 15 to 20 minutes while a Windows OS may have 25 to 30 minutes’ downtime.
