Define what is cloud computing? How does it work?

Cloud computing is an Internet based computing, wherein IT resources such as cloud servers, bandwidth, cloud storage, and applications are delivered as a service to the businesses over the network. Similar to grid computing, cloud enables companies to provision the resources from the convenience of their home/office, provided they have the Internet connectivity. It provides immense capability to store and process in a professional data center. Furthermore, cloud computing is categorized into three segments – public cloud, private cloud, and hybrid cloud.

Now let's understand how does cloud works. It is a cluster of multiple servers in a network that enables individuals to quickly provision the resources to meet their surging business demands. Cloud uses a network layer to interact with end-users devices, such as PC's, laptops, and smartphones to the computing capacity centralized in a data center facility. End-users can access the computing resources over the Internet or company’s network from any part of the world.
