Private cloud is a cloud computing platform where the services are delivered to one single customer. The services are provided within a virtualized environment using the underlying pool of resources like the way it is delivered in the
public cloud hosting but here the environment is secluded and isolated, with a ring-like fence within a corporate firewall, for use by that single organization.
You as a customer are in a more secure area with the risks of intruders minimal. You access your services through dedicated leased network connections and access to your area is restricted. You are in total control over your environment. You can configure and manage the services as your business requires in a customizable manner. It is more expensive than the public cloud. You can scale your requirements and discard the computing resources you do not utilize.
Private cloud offers enhanced reliability. Since the clouds are virtualized servers even if a server faces any issues or is closed for maintenance you are automatically diverted to the other active servers that are available on the network.
Private cloud computing is not an ideal option for the small and medium-sized businesses and is a preferred option for the large organization who want to take advantage of the
cloud computing architecture without losing control.
