To change your root password on a
Linux vps server, connect to the server via the SSH. You should then issue the following command to the terminal “passwd”. Click on the account in which you wish to change the password. Type the new password. The characters will not reflect on the screen when you type. You will get a prompt to retype the password. A confirmation message will appear “All authentication tokens updated successfully”. If you wish to test, you may log in to your server via ssh and type the user name and password.
To change password on a
Windows vps server, launch Remote Desktop. Enter your IP address and your user ID. Go to the control panel and then to Administrative Tools and next click on Computer Management.
Select the user account that you wish to modify and select” Set Password”. Follow the instructions that appear on your screen and click “proceed” Enter your new password, retype it and click OK. The password is changed successfully.
