VPS SLA is the Service Level Agreement agreed upon and signed by the customer of server and the service provider. The main purpose of signing and an SLA is that it governs the services and facilities that the company will provide its customers. Both qualitative as well as quantitative terms of the SLA are defined precisely in the Service Level Agreement. Moreover, customer expectation is established on quality as well as performance. There are many metrics that are included here:
• Uptime and availability percentage • Specific benchmarks will be defined and they will be compared on a periodical manner to see whether the benchmarks and reality match. • Response time of the desk is also mentioned in the VPS SLA. The reality is also checked with respect to the claimed response time. • Required statistics will also be provided by the SLA
In fact, penalties as well as exclusions are also mentioned in the SLA so that proper steps can be acquired when required. SLAs are mostly needed by large business houses so that they can keep an eye on the facilities provided and steps are taken accordingly.
