How to add your SSH key on a dedicated server?

Every user that has Dedicated Server with standard setup has root SSH access to the server. The very first step to add your SSH key on a Dedicated Server is to generate an SSH key on Windows/Linux. Once you have generated the private and public SSH keys, you can add the public key through your WHM.

To do so, login to your server’s WHM panel as root user and go to Manage root’s SSH keys, located at the Security section. After that, click on the Import key button and type a name in a passphrase for the key and type your public key in the respective field. You don’t have to paste the private key. Click Import button to import your key.
