Logon to your Joomla admin panel. On the top menu click on Components and then on the Contacts. Then move to the New button on top and click on it. You will have to fill in certain details on the New Contact page. Press on the Save after you finished filling in the particulars like name of the contact, their username if they are registered as a user in your Joomla site.
Select a contact category from the 4 options and any miscellaneous details you may have. Then you have the contact form which by default contains fields like name, email address, subject, message and send a copy to yourself which the user has to complete and click on send button. The user will get a “thank you for your mail” message. You can setup a captcha for contact forms by going to captcha setting in
Joomla Hosting though there is no such provision by default.
You can set up captcha settings in your Jhoomla configuration and they will be seen automatically in the contact forms.
