Yes, you can use the same SSL certificate if you are migrating to new servers or are migrating from one
hosting company to another. You will be exporting the SSL certificate from the server on which it is installed and move the SSL certificate to the new server and import it on the new server. There are a few SSL certificate providers that may ask you to purchase a server license for each of the additional servers on which you apply the certificate even if you use the same private key. The risk here is that if by any chance, a hacker successfully breaks through into one of the servers and gets the private key, they will be able to read on all the connections that all the servers are making.
To connect an SSL to new servers you must follow a few steps.
1. Transfer the SSL from the present server with a private key
2. Adapt the certificate to a new format if using on a different server and
3. import the SSL and the private key on the new server and configure your web pages to use them.
You can move and copy an
SSL certificate from one server to another on your own or contact our customer support team in case you need any assistance.
