The process of renewal of a
SSL certificate is similar to what a new certificate takes. The renewal time taken will vary depending on the company from where the SSL has been purchased. You will get a reminder email at the registered email address from your provider about 60 days before your SSL expires. Even if the SSL is auto renewed you have to apply for the renewal credit and send a renewal request through your official account. To renew your certificate, you have to login to your account and proceed to the Products tab and click on the “expired” or renew tab. You will have to generate a new CSR if you are on a Windows or Java -based servers. If there are any documentation changes in your company information, you will have to provide the documents supporting the changes. Once approved, you will get your renewed certificate to your registered
email address. You can download the certificate and uninstall the earlier certificate after you have properly installed the new certificate. Keep a
backup of the old certificate for your records before you uninstall it. Nowadays you can directly purchase and renew your certificate for three years.
