A data center is a facility that houses complex equipment to serve the hosting needs of web based businesses. A contract is constituted between the business, called client and the hosting service provider, called host, wherein the host provides services to the client against an established rent payable to the host. Usually, the agreement term is monthly or annual, however the longest term can be extended to several years.

The shortest term agreement that a data center provider offers to clients is one month.
