You can create a backup by using cPanel. We recommend that prior to making any changes to website, one should create a backup. The backup tool in cPanel helps you create a backup in zip file. This file can be downloaded and stored on a local computer.
After you login to cPanel click ‘download a Full Website Backup’
Select option of ‘home directory’ and then click ‘generate backup’
Here you can select the option of email notification after the backup is finished.
After the backup is completed you can download the file from /home directory. It is recommended to include the date while you name the backup. Remember, you will also receive email notification about completion of backup.
It should be noted that it is not advisable to store backups in File Manager. The backups created by you should be stored away from the server. Creation of backup is the best way to safeguard your files and emails. Automatic remote backups are offered as a service on
hosting accounts.
However it is ideal way to maintain your own backup files, since data is overwritten by the automatic backup processes.
Moreover, remote
backups are should not be considered as alternative to guaranteed data recovery, since these are meant for
disaster recovery.
