Well, I have found many of us asking this question either to themselves or to their colleagues that how Cloud Server Hosting is different from Virtual Server Hosting. Let me take this call!! VPS Hosting Virtual Server hosting is a technique of partitioning a physical server into multiple servers such that each has the appearance and capabilities of running on its own dedicated server. Each VPS can run its own operating system, and each server can be individualistically booted /rebooted. On the other hand, Cloud Server Hosting is a technique in which robustly scalable and often virtualized resources are delivered as a service over the Internet. Pros of VPS Hosting
Cloud Server Hosting A cloud server utilizes numerous servers connected together in a cluster which is backed by SAN storage. Pros of Cloud Servers It offers unlimited storage, managed load balancing, maximum bandwidth, and no limitation to a specific piece of hardware.

That can be a very detailed and long discussion, but I would like to throw light on some pointers, which are given below: Server Setup- A virtual private server is a single physical server, split up between limited number of users whereas a private cloud uses distributed resources across multiple physical servers. Location- A virtual private server is generally hosted at an off-site, third-party web server provider while a private cloud is situated on site or at a data center you own. Scalability- Cloud control panels are built with quick provisioning and deployment in mind. Comparatively, A VPS requires manual upgrade for the requirement of resources. |
