A VPS or virtual physical server is a large server that has been sliced into many smaller server slices. Each of these slices is capable of acting as an independent entity and can create a virtual server environment of their own. Your data remains wholly insulated and separate within your server environment. Using the cloud platform will help manage their website and data better as they can access multiple servers and receive unlimited storage and wider bandwidth facility. They are not tied to a specific type or piece of hardware. Cloud servers offer more server power within a short notice and are hence more scalable than VPS servers.
