Get a dedicated machine. Set up the operating system and configure the operating system. Next is to assemble the server. Keep your body grounded and do not stand on a carpet. Start with the motherboard. Open the processor socket latch; insert the processor matching the pins. Close the latch, install heat-sink/ processor fan over the processor onto the motherboard. Open the memory (RAM) slots and insert the memory. Push it down until the latches settle into the place around the memory. Put the computer case and install the power supply. Screw in the motherboard. Insert optical DVD drive into the case and the internal drive. Connect cables from the optical drive and hard drive on to the motherboard. Secure the large power cable from the power supply unit as well as the small power cord from the processor heat/sink fan to the motherboard. Cross check each part. Close the case. Do not do the screwing in yet. Connect the new server to the power outlet. Do not forget to plug in your monitor, keyboard and mouse. Boot up the server and fasten all screws. Your dedicated server is ready for use. |
