SAP ECC (SAP ERP Central Component) is the previous generation SAP ERP software. It offers a wide range of modules useful for business applications that include logistics, Human Resources, Product Planning, finance, customer service etc. All the modules are combined into one single system. They can be customized to run on any database the client wants. SAP ECC is now being superseded by S4 HANA. SAP HANA is a modern-day database released in 2010. it is differently built from the traditional relational database. HANA runs in-memory which means the data is stored in columnar style rather than the typical rows model. This allows neat and fast real-time compute and analytic capabilities. S4HANA is a suite of ERP on Cloud software that runs on top of the in-memory database. SAP ECC users can reach the S4HANA only via the HANA Suite. S4 HANA users get all the features and benefits of the Suite and SAP ECC. |
