Data center infrastructures have changed lot today. Those were the days when businesses used to place a single server in a rack, located in a temperature controlled room, and call them ‘data centers’. Today data center infrastructure require to be scalable and flexible in order to host dynamic workloads, such as – colocation, cloud-as-a-service etc. Hence, it becomes inevitable to know which data centers are actually flexible, and which aren’t. Here are the pointers- Dynamic Allocation of Data: Being a flexible data center, it must have provisions to dynamically allocate data to any server from any server pool, depending on the maximum space usage limit. Load Balancing: Load balancing is a mechanism of the modern day data centers that ensures uniform traffic distribution throughout the server pool. Flat Addressing: Depending upon the end user system, this mechanism allocates server resources in order to ensure optimum flexibility and scalability. |
