You need a web application firewall to protect your website and other applications from malicious attacks that cannot be controlled or prevented by the traditional security systems like IPS or IDS. While HTTPS is important, it is not enough to stop hackers from infiltrating a website. The web application firewall builds a set of rules. It analyzes the traffic, blocks unwanted and suspicious web traffic from getting access to the website applications. It effective protects against hacks, brute force attacks, XSS (cross site scripting) attacks, D-DoS attacks, SQL Injections, and many other similar vulnerabilities that websites are prone to.
