Operating System Level Virtualization
Operating system virtualization is an advanced server virtualization technology. It involves customizing a standard operating system designed to run different applications managed by multiple users on the same system simultaneously. Despite the fact that they are on the same computer, the operating systems do not get in the way with each other. In operating system virtualization, the operating system is tweaked to ensure that it works like various individual systems. The virtualized environment is engineered to accept commands from different users using different applications but on the same computer. It provides transparent virtualization facility to users and can also be used to transfer critical applications to an alternate OS.
