Open Rack

Open Rack is the foremost open standard for server rack designed for the data centers. It is quite different from the traditional 19-inch server rack width as it has 21-inch wide slot. Integration of rack into the data centers is the part of the Open Compute Project’s. Both, for single and triple rack designs, Open Rack provides the specifications.

Physical design, Cable organization, Thermal design and server density, Power distribution, Battery backup, Service efficiency, scalability, and flexibility are few of the design elements that are covered by Open Rack's specifications. Open racks can be swiftly deployed in collocated data centers.
