These two facets of cloud services address two different time frames in the life cycle of a business. Cloud elasticity provisions interim, strategic needs, while cloud scalability provisions enduring, preemptive needs of the businesses. Cloud elasticity allows businesses to easily fit the resources required to cope up with loads dynamically usually in relation to scale out. On the other hand, Cloud scalability facilitates businesses to meet anticipated demand for services without any requirement for huge and upfront capital investments in infrastructure building and maintenance. |

Scalability and Elasticity are the two most pronounced terms when it comes to cloud computing. Cloud elasticity enables businesses to swiftly spawn computing resources in no time. It is the ability to fit the computing resources requisite to cope up with workload dynamically with respect to scale out. On the other hand, scalability is referred as an ability of a system to handle increased workload by adding different nodes or making the hardware stronger. |
