Hadoop is project that seeks to develop software. Hadoop is an open source project that develops software for scalable, reliable and distributed computing. Hadoop is for the distributed computing of the size that requires enabling big data. Hadoop is a series of projects those are related. Hadoop has multiple modules such as Hadoop distributed file system or HDFS, Hadoop MapReduce and Hadoop Yarn. The first one is a powerful distributed file system. The second one is helping to distribute large data set over a series of computers, and the last one is for management of job scheduling and cluster resources.

Since Hadoop is associated with distribution of big, massive amount of data, which accumulates in an amazing speed, Cloud remains ideally suited for Hadoop. Cloud is capable of providing required power for the processing of the large data sets, placed parallel. Big and massive data requires a flexible and active computing platform. Cloud servers are also capable of providing a flexible and hyperactive computing platform for big data. Cloud is capable to acquire immense amounts of computing power to achieve super scalability. This scalability is needed to control resources for big data distribution.

Cloud is more responsive to the needs of a business. Cloud and Hadoop are complimentary because of speed and agility.
