According to the research firm Gartner, the AWS is currently leading the cloud market with the finest combinations of tools within a single platform. The Azure comes a close second to it as it is still lacking in execution to the degree AWS has mastered. The third promising player is the Google Cloud which is steadily gaining popularity.

The Microsoft Azure offers a suite of integrate cloud solutions that IT developers can use for building, deploying and managing applications via a wide global network of many data center. While the AWS holds more than a decade-long experience in cloud computing technologies and services having had its origins in 2004, the Azure is more recent. Earlier, the AWS offered only SQL services but soon it expanded to include Amazon RDS, Amazon S3, and Amazon EC2 etc.

The Azure is still a newbie and entered the scene in 2010. It began its journey as a cloud computing platform and slowly entered other service areas like virtual machines, SQL database, Azure CDN etc. This platform has successfully made important advancements over time and offers many capabilities and features which help it go past its competitors. Azure incidentally performs better than all the other cloud hosting providers in .net compatibility, security offering, PaaS capabilities, hybrid solutions etc. It also has a gentle learning curve and has the potential to go past AWS in the long run. Whether AWS can continue to dominate the cloud market will depend on whether its services remain accessible to consumers at competitive prices.
